Voice changes occur during puberty. Increase in length and changes on vocal cord, more pronounced in males, leads to decreased pitch .
Throat in adolescent males more affected as they shout more. This puts strain on vocal cords leading to vocal nodule.

Puberophonia – feminine voice due to psychological causes(very close to mothers) / endocrinological causes .

Androphonia – in young girls who have male like voices.
Treatment – voice therapy, surgical mgt.
Stammering – due to psychological reasons (shock, sibling rivalry, death in family).
Treatment – counseling
Loud music enjoyed by adolescents leads to hearing loss/recurrent ear infection.
